The Streamlined RDM US Cup Extension is a high-performance, nearly indestructible piece of gear designed specifically for Reduced Diameter Masts (RDM) and the American "US Cup" base standard.
While most of the world uses the Euro Pin, Streamlined remains the premier choice for those who prefer the rock-solid, sand-tolerant US Cup system.
"Red-Line" Tubing: Made from 6061-T8 aircraft-grade aluminum. The tubing is drawn to a specific 32.5mm diameter, allowing for thinner walls (less weight) without sacrificing extreme stiffness.
Power-Six Pulley System: Features a massive 6:1 mechanical advantage. The pulleys are large-diameter and oriented perpendicularly to the sail's pulleys, ensuring zero crossed lines and a much easier downhaul.
Laser-Etched Scale: The height settings (every 2cm) are laser-etched into the anodized tube, meaning the numbers will never wear off or fade.
Stainless Steel Adjustment Collar: Uses a hard-anodized aluminum collar with a stainless steel pin tethered by a Spectra line. It is virtually impossible to break or lose.
| Version | Lengths | Description |
| Aluminum (Red-Line) | 30cm / 46cm | The classic choice. Heavy-duty, red-anodized inside and out for maximum corrosion resistance. |
| Carbon (Feather-Line) | 30cm / 46cm | Uses HMX Pre-preg carbon. It is one of the lightest extensions in the world while remaining exceptionally stiff. |
No Mechanical Play: The US Cup system (two pins locking into a cup) offers a very rigid connection with less "wobble" than many Euro Pin systems.
Sand Tolerance: If you launch in sandy or silty areas, the US Cup is much easier to clean and less likely to jam than a spring-loaded pin mechanism.
Reliability: In high-stress conditions (big waves or high-speed racing), the US Cup is favored because it distributes the load across two heavy-duty pins.
Minimum Setting: Usually around 6cm to 10cm (depending on the year/model).
Rope: Comes standard with Marlow Formuline or Dyneema Super Downhaul—the strongest ropes in the industry.
Compatibility: Fits all standard RDM masts (internal diameter ~32mm) and all US Cup bases (Streamlined, Chinook, etc.).
Note: If you are transitioning from an SDM (Standard) setup to RDM, remember that your US Cup Base is the same, but the Extension must be RDM-specific to fit inside the thinner mast.
